As a firm believer in celebrating and sharing comedy in all it’s form, we wanted to alert you guys to a show that is gonna blow some socks off the funny door. This show- “No Show: A One Woman Show” has been carefully created by the comedic genius behind some of I’ve Got Munchies’ funniest sketches. Please check it out Ms.Jenn Dodd‘s latest creation!
What?Woody Allen once said, “80% of success is showing up.” Comedic actress and Andy Kaufman Award finalist Dodd must have missed the memo. After she fails to arrive for her own solo show, a cavalcade of personalities takes advantage of the empty stage. In this quirky, fast-paced comedy of errors, Dodd portrays each oddball character. Directed by Katie Hartman.
“It’s a show within a show, essentially,” said Dodd in her recent interview with adamcentric . “It’s very meta. It’s like if Noises Off! were played by the same person, and that person was a little weird and dark.”
Where?Stage Left Studio -214 West 30th Street, New York City, NY 10001
When?“No Show” will open October 10th/7:30 PM at and run the following dates:
October 10th 7:30 PM October 11th 7:30 PM October 12th 7:30 PM October 17th 7:30 PM October 18th 7:30 PM October 19th 7:30 PM October 24th 7:30 PM October 25th 7:30 PM
Here’s a funny little nugget “A Walk In” from Brendan Mcloughlin. This micro short is just that, short but oh so laugh out loud funny. You may have seen his work with Papaya Brothers Comedy and on stage with Jenn Dodd. Can’t wait to see what he’s going to come up with next in this Micro Short series! Good stuff!
One of our funny buddies and video contributor to I’ve Got Munchies, the talented Jenn Dodd, needs our help! Coming this October at Stage Left Studios in New York City, Jenn has put together a menagerie of funny characters in her new show “No Show: A One Woman Show”…. this is where we come in, she needs a little bit of money to make this masterpiece into a reality on stage. Plus, there are some awesome perks to sweeten the deal!
Check out the Indiegogo page and make a pledge! ANY amount helps these characters come alive!
What’s the show about?
Woody Allen said “80% of success is showing up.” Apparently, comedic actress, Jenn Dodd, missed the memo. It’s the opening night of her one woman show; friends, family and industry are all ready and waiting to see what this comedy gal has to offer. With the pressure rising and a misguided director who’s cut all the funny lines from her show, our leading lady is nowhere to be found and the stage crew has to scramble. What happens when the one women who’s show it is, is a no-show? Comedy chameleon, Jenn Dodd, plays all of the characters in this quirky, fast-paced comedy of errors.
Check out the March edition of “Buttski & Glasscock’s New Talent Blow Out” show filmed at the Peoples Improv Theater in New York City on “I’ve Got Munchies Presents…”
Each month the Buttski and Glasscock Talent Agency brings you the best of the worst in the most pure, yet eccentric, talent this small town has to offer. As only two career-savvy former show girls can, Buttski and Glasscock comb through Craigslist ad after Craigslist ad looking to breed new talent.
This month we welcome some seriously ALL-STAR character comics…
And, of course, our celebrity panel… Mr. Johnny Depp (Ryan Farrell), “Southernprepper316” (Steve Sidell) from season 2 of “Doomsday Preppers” on the National Geographic Channel and a famous celebrity biographer (Steve Soroka)!
Comedic Rappers Squirm and Germ have done it again! Their newest video “Kid’s Party!” is by far a funny morsel of a music video released for Youube’s Comedy Week! I’ve already watched this video 5 times today and I will definitely be running around singing the chorus “Soda, Nachos, Pizza, Boogers!” all day!
